For Q1 2018, plants of JSC Inter RAO – Electric Power Plants has increased the installed capacity by 1,774.5 MW or 8.5% compared to the same period in 2017 and has amounted to 22,696.2 MW.

In 2017, the installed capacity was increased based on the results of re-qualification from 1,160 MW to 1,190 MW (by 30 MW to make 200 MW at unit No. 1) at Gusinoozerskaya HPP, and from 2,013 MW to 2,031 MW (by 18 MW at unit No. 3) at Nizhnevartovsk HPP. Moreover, in June 2017, a new 447.15 MW power-generating unit No. 12 was put into operation at Verkhnetagilskaya HPP and increased installed capacity of this plant from 615 MW to 1,062.15 MW. In August 2017, a new 861 MW power-generating unit No. 4 was put into operation at Perm HPP and increased the rated power output of the power facility to 3,261 MW. In December, the new power-generating unit of Perm HPP was re-qualified to 903 MW along with units Nos. 1, 2 and 3 each of which added 20 MW, thus the total power output of power plants reached 3,363 MW.

On March 2, 2018, in the Kaliningrad region, the Mayakovskaya TPP with the installed capacity of 157.35 MW and the Talakhovskaya TPP with installed capacity of 159 MW were officially commissioned in Gusev and in Sovetsk respectively. The commissioning of these plants has made it possible to increase the energy security of the westernmost region of Russia, as well as fully compensate for the capacity required to stop the scheduled repair of the first power unit of Kaliningradskaya TPP-2.

For the reported period, the electricity output of JSC Inter RAO – Electric Power Plants facilities has decreased by 2.1 % compared to 2017 and was 24.09 billion kWh. The decrease in the indicator is due to the optimization of the scope of available generating equipment under the conditions of increasing the load of cheap generation by HPP and efficient facilities under the Capacity Supply Agreement. The utilization factor for the installed capacity of the power plants of Inter RAO – Electric Power Plants in Q1 2018 decreased to 49.3%.

We reduced the specific reference fuel consumption (RFC) for electricity generation by 7.97 g of reference fuel per kWh through implementation of measures aimed at energy performance enhancement along with the introduction of energy efficient generating equipment.

As part of the repair campaign, in Q1 2018, 12 repairs of turbine units (a capacity of 2,433 MW) and 9 repairs of boilers (with a total steam capacity of 6,333 t/h) were completed at the power plants of JSC Inter RAO – Electric Power Plants.

Heat energy delivery by the plants of JSC Inter RAO – Electric Power Plants for Q1 2018 increased by 9.5% compared to the same period of 2017 and amounted to 1,859.2 thousand Gcal. Heat energy delivery is increased due to lower average monthly temperature of the outdoor air in winter 2017–2018 in the regions of power plant location.
