Inter RAO Group is working on the Yuzhnouralskaya TPP-2 investment project that includes two 400 MW combined cycle power generation units.

The first unit was launched on February 17, 2014, and the second is scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Core equipment of the first power generation unit includes high-efficiency Siemens AG gas and steam turbines and a ZiO-Podolsk boiler delivering some of the highest efficiencies of power generation in the industry at 54.8%.

The power generation units of Yuzhnouralskaya TPP-2 are located at a dedicated site on the bank of Yuzhnouralsk Reservoir. A different location from Yuzhnouralskaya TPP that was built more than 60 years ago enabled Inter RAO to use the best engineering solutions and the latest power generation equipment, and to ensure high industrial and environmental safety of the new power generation facility.
