Inter RAO Group and NordEnergoGroup Agree on Joint Modernization of Kashirskaya SDPP
Inter RAO Group and NordEnergoGroup sign an agreement on the joint upgrade of the Kashirskaya SDPP and subsequent operation of the novel units. For these purposes, the partners earlier established Kashirskaya SDPP LLC on a parity basis. The parties have agreed on the project metrics, enterprise management, financing, and ways on resolving corporate issues. Their agreement received proper approval by the Federal Antimonopoly Service. The companies plan to invest approximately RUB 80 billion.
The project to install Russia-originating 900MW combined cycle gas turbines at the Kashirskaya SDPP was selected, as a project introducing innovative power equipment, for the governmental program intending to modernize the thermal power industry. Two double PGU-460 units coupled with the Russia-originating gas turbine GTE-170.1 developed by Power Machines JSC with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, are planned to be installed at Kashirskaya SDPP site. The high-capacity gas turbine GTE-170.1 was the first in Russia to receive the status of innovative power equipment.
Inter RAO Group is expected to prepare design documentation, carry out the construction and installation, supply the auxiliary equipment, and commission the combined cycle gas turbine units. NordEnergoGroup is responsible for the supply, supervision and testing of the major equipment, as well as its maintenance.
The upgraded plant is expected to start supplying to the wholesale electricity market on January 1, 2028. The project also envisages for the decommissioning of the coal equipment with the total capacity of 747MW, at Yuzhnouralskaya SDPP in 2027.
