The branch includes Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-1 and Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-2 with total installed capacity of 1,591.5 MW. The share of the two power plants in electricity generation on the regional market is about 30%. Given the importance of the facility, the management of Inter RAO – Management of Electric Power Plants challenged the new director with the task to further improve production, financial and economic indicators, enhance well-being of personnel, ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of the power plant and implement a strategically important joint venture project, Kashirskaya GRES LLC, which will soon incorporate the first stage of Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-1.
Sergey Pavlovich Zhevtyak, who has been heading Yuzhnouralskaya GRES since 2000, decided to retire.
