Yuzhnouralskaya SDPP is one of the first thermal power plants in Russia with design capacity over 1000 MW, and one of the first power plants in Ural and Siberia to use Russian high-pressure steam equipment. It provides electricity to cities in South Urals and heat to commercial and residential consumers in Yuzhnouralsk.
Yuzhnouralskaya SDPP has two 200 MW power generation units, ten P-10 and PK-14 boilers, 83 MW turbine generator (No. 5), 100 MW turbine generator (No. 6) and two 82 MW turbine generator (No. 7 and 8). It can use either coal or gas for fuel.
Yuzhnouralskaya SDPP generated 1571,92 million kWh of electricity in 2019.
